Week 52: CELEBRATE!!!!

My son turned 3 years old on Christmas Day! Christmas and birthdays are always a good reason to celebrate. Granted these were taken a few days after his birthday. He loved the idea of blowing out candles so we had a reenactment with his last piece of birthday cake.

Let's celebrate me finishing the entire year of Project 52!!!!! Will continue it in 2013 with My Four Hens Photography again! Also,  I started a new blog with my son about adventures and crafts that he and I do, and how to's so you can do them too. Check out: adventureswithactionjackson.wordpress.com

Week 51: Red and Gold

This ornament bell was given to us the 1st Christmas we had in Okinawa, Japan by our neighbors. This was 4 years ago. I love the hand painted detail. This red bell and it's other pair that is blue are my son's favorite ornaments on the tree, as he loves to ring them.

Week 50: Inside

My son found out the glory of box "caves" today. He has spent most of the day inside and I can say this might be his new favorite place in the house now.

Week 48: Thankful

I had to travel 10 hours back to my hometown this week. My Grandmother is having open heart surgery and I have been thankful to have had her in my life the past 27 years. She grew up in this town as well as my mother. I am thankful for family, electricity and tradition. This is the towns lake and every year they have the entire lake and surrounding houses all decorated in thousands of lights. I love this place.

Week 46: Something Old, Something New

Week 46: Something Old, Something New

My Old Dog (8 yrs) and his new tennis ball.

Old habits. New place.  I know it is odd, but my son ever since we could crawl has had a fascination with manhole covers. Don't worry he often gets clean afterwards ;)

Week 45: Hot/Cold

One great thing about Miami is that it is November and 80 degrees outside.  A nice COLD drink is great on a nice warm day.

Week 44: Black and White

I love Black and White photography. This was right after my son decided to paint his legs and fell in the street causing a good "boo-boo" on his knee.

Week 43:Hometown

In Miami we really don't have much in the way of seasons. I was a little late on this one, but we were able to find a few leaves on the ground and since Miami isn't my hometown, it is just now my home. I hate to deal with the lack of fall and let my son jump in however many leaves we can find so he can experience it.

Week 42: Up Close and Personal

Oh how I love dragonflies. Ones that will sit and pose for you for nearly 30 minutes are even better! This photograph made it into My Four Hens Photography's Eye Candy list for this week.

Week 30: Euphoria

So much wrong with this, but I love it. My son kept running from the splash pad to me every time he got splashed. He loves water and just the expression on his face is priceless.

Week 29: Me

It's late sorry, no internet for a week stinks. And well this is instagram.

Week 28: Time

A little late.. But time... My favorite time is nap time or bed time. Since bed time happens every day where naps are few and far between. Any time that the house is quiet do to a sleeping child is fantastic.

My dog Captain's addiction  to getting the squeaker  out of a toy.

Week 26: Friendship

Well this week will have to be an instagram picture. My camera has to go to the shop to get its SD card reader fixed.

Anyways this was taken yesterday, Sunday, at the zoo.
This is my husband and son waiting in line to feed the giraffes. I just love how I caught this moment.

Week 25: Fatherhood

Captured a sweet moment between my boys. My son doesn't always cuddle with my husband, it's more of wrestling. This was really sweet though.

Week 24: Texture

My son and I had sensory play this morning with colored spaghetti noodles. This is the 1st time he has really played with them and I think he had a blast.  The texture started getting sticky so we started throwing them to see what all they would stick to.  What 2 1/2 yr old doesn't love to throw stuff.

Week 22: Yellow

Sometimes boys will be boys and pick the flowers you don't want them to pick. But it is ok, because they are only this size once.

Week 21: Dream

My husband and I took our son to the train museum at the beginning of the week. Everyday since he has wanted to do nothing but play with his trains. If he could talk more than he does, maybe he might tell me his dream could be to work on the railroad like his great-papaw did.

Week 20: Motherhood

My son is my world. I love that I can try to teach him the alphabet with chalk and he can turn something as simple as the ABC's into art with adding his own chalk to the mix. He has to put his own spin on everything, and he is rather pretty good at it too.

Week 19: Weather

Thanks to my dad for having my curiosity of weather grow as an adult. I have been fascinated by it since I was little. I hate HATE hate storms. But if there is a hurricane or tropical storm out there chances are that my tv is on the weather channel, or I am looking at www.NOAA.gov  or watching the destruction unfold over and over again.  I have a love/hate relationship with destruction. Now that I am  living in south florida it makes me nervous on this upcoming hurricane season.

We had a storm come through on Monday and here I am on my patio trying to get a picture of the rain. Of course I have lightening all around me ( my patio is not enclosed). So I decided to be smart and put on shoes and get my tripod. Go me!

*Featured in My Four Hens Photography Eye Candy for Week 19*

This morning on my son's and my walk to the lake we started getting some rain clouds move in. This is an instagram photo I took, but I think it is still pretty.

Week 18: Happy

Jack's swimming in the pool at our new club house.  This is the happiest I have seen him in a long while.

Week 17: White

Feeling very uninspired and waiting until the last minute to do anything I figured you just can't go wrong with a black and white picture.

Week 16: Perspective

This week is a little late do to not having internet. But I am online again and with even faster internet and it feels good!
This weeks theme is perspective. My family and I went to the Miami Zoo this weekend. Here we met this Chimpanzee who kindly greeted everyone. He sat and smiled at everyone and even clapped his hands. It makes me wonder what it would look like from the other side.

Week 15: Movement

Things move. It's a way of life. You add in summer ( well spring if you must) and you think water. How much you want to be near water, on the water, in the water. I actually had the idea for this shoot the other day while my son was playing in his pool. We were pouring water into different containers and I decided to get a ball pit ball and throw it in the air with the water and catch it again. Well thankfully I am still at my parents house and my mom was a great hand model for this one.  Thanks for the help mom!

Week 14: Home

Grayton Beach, Fl always has and always been my home. My mom skipped school and came to these beaches, I was raised on these beaches. These were some of the 1st beaches my son played on when we got back from Japan. This is my home. Even when we don't know where our next home will be, I know we will have this.

I know this is not a new picture, but this is one that means a lot to me that was taken last summer.

Week 13: Nature

My favorite topic and subject ( besides my son).  Lately I have had a lot of my nature pictures up for sale on my ETSY site ( www.ryannephotography.etsy.com) and this picture has got to be one of my all time favorites that I have ever taken. It is of a blooming aloe plant. I didn't know they were this pretty up close. I guess I never paid much attention to them. Boy do they smell good too.  This print is for sale.

Week 12: Sparkle

Sometimes a sparkle isn't really a sparkle, it could be just a feeling that tingles in side you, or something that someone sees inside of another person.

Week 11: Blue

My mothers yellow banks rose and the crystal clear blue sky behind it makes for a perfect backdrop.

Week 10: Personality

The many faces of my son. I swear the other day it hit me that I should of just done this project as 52 pictures of my son since it seems like it is turning out that way.
He is starting to learn feelings and what emotions look like. Here recently is he has be going from frowny face to smiley face. It has been a trip. I ended up catching this on my phone the other day at lunch. He is such a goofball.
